+ Introduction +
=====================
Hello again,
If you remember, last week Paula Bright sent in a question
regarding FFA links, to which I gave quite an extensive reply (If
you missed the last issue, mailto:BBLast+nowsell.com to get a
copy). In conjunction, the Voting Booth question last week was
"Do you think posting your link on FFA pages is worthwhile?",
which generated quite a mixed response.
Seeing the obvious uncertainty regarding the usefulness of these
pages, I decided to run a little test. Using the links to FFA
autosubmitters I'd included in the piece I wrote, I posted my URL
to (supposedly thousands) of FFA pages.
Before I started, I composed 4 catchy headlines for 4 different
sections of the Now Sell! site, and listed them together with
their respective URLs in a text document. For future reference, I
also included the email address I wished to use and the date.
To speed the posting process up I used the shareware "CopyPaste"
multiple clipboard utility for Mac, which now offers a Win95/98
version as well: http://www.scriptsoftware.com (allows up to 100
clipboards which can also be saved through restarts, plus many
other useful features - GET IT!).
//-----------Tip------------//
In most instances, the fastest way to use CopyPaste is by loading
the clipboard set containing the different bits of information
you wish to use, and then pasting using the keys:
CONTROL + C + [CLIP # (i.e. 1, 2, 3, etc.)].
On a Mac use the COMMAND key in place of CONTROL.
//---------End Tip----------//
It turned out that a couple of the sites I listed were actually
using the same submission service, so I only posted my links
through four of them. I opened a separate browser window for each
of these autosubmit pages and pasted the details of my first URL
in each, pressing 'submit' as I moved on to the next window.
By the time I'd submitted my first URL to the page in the last
window, the page in the first window had completed the submission
process and was ready for me to post to another category.
In this manner, I quickly posted all four of my URLs to both the
"Business" and "Miscellaneous" categories with the four
submission services.
The results?
I waited several days, and then checked my server logs, looking
for my '?FFA' coding appearing at the end of any referring URLs,
which would tell me the visit was from a link on one of the FFA
pages I had posted to.
//---------Side Note----------//
If you don't have access to your logs you can also use a traffic
stats service for this. If you don't know how to code your URLs
for tracking purposes, send in your post telling me so, and I'll
explain next week.
//-------End Side Note--------//
Get ready for this...
After careful checking, I discovered that a total of... zero
visitors arrived at my site through the URLs I had posted to the
FFA pages...
Not one single visit was generated!
I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

Further to Don Morris' post last week regarding his search for
online storefront providers, a few days ago I came across a new
service from Beseen that looks promising. Though I haven't
investigated thoroughly as yet, the system appears a good option
for those wishing to set up their own online store in any way
they see fit.
It consists of the Beseen "Buy it" button, which the site owner
places adjacent to each item in their store. As I understand it,
clicking on the button will take the customer to a secure server
page at Beseen, pre-configured to take the order for the item
concerned. You don't require a merchant account and there is no
set up fee, with Beseen taking a commission on each sale instead.
Here's the URL: http://buyit.beseen.com/

FOR MILLIONAIRES IN TRAINING
----------------------------
by David Deeson
1. Be a Specialist
This is the age of the expert. If you try to be all things to all
people, you will be nothing. Work one venture, and use the
benefit of the product or service to describe who you are, what
you do, eg Weight Management Advisor, Business Success Counselor,
Healthy Living Consultant.
2. Work a Proven Business
Very few people got rich by inventing a new product or
pioneering a new way of selling a long established or well proven
business concept. If you try you will finish poorer than when you
began.
3. Don't Waste Time on Time Wasters
Concentrate on those things and people you know will contribute
to your success. Don't be side tracked by those obscure requests
that will take up inordinate amounts of time and bring little
reward. Say "no" at the outset.
4. Remember Parieto's 80:20 Law
The 80:20 rule applies as much to your new venture as it does to
every other aspect of life, eg 20% of your efforts will
contribute 80% of your revenue. So be sure you devote 80% of your
time to the 20% effort that will pay your mortgage and buy your
food. That way you will be one of the 20% with 80% of the money!
5. Dress for Success
Appearance is important. If you are a comedian wear white socks.
If you are in business for yourself dress conservatively. You
lose (or win) the opportunity to do business with someone in the
first few seconds you meet them. You never get a second chance to
make a first impression.
6. Sell Solutions
People buy benefits, not features, so sell benefits. You sell
peace of mind, not burglar alarms; good health, not herbal
remedies; a slim figure, not dietary aids.
7. Frequently Use the 12 Most Persuasive Words
You - Money - Save - New - Results - Easy - Health - Safety -
Have - Discovery - Proven - Guarantee.
8. Keep Prospects and Customers Informed
If someone asks for something do it now. If you can’t, let your
prospects and customers know what you are doing, and why they are
waiting.
9. Find Out Why
Every time you fail to make a sale ask yourself, "why?" If you
don't know the answer, ask the prospect or customer where you
went wrong.
10. Be Enthusiastic
The greatest principle of human persuasion is that people are
persuaded more by your depth of conviction than by the height of
your logic. More by your enthusiasm than by any proof you can
offer. Don't be tired and boring; be enthusiastic. Make that
sale.
11. Do You Need to be Doing What You Are Doing?
Is what you are doing right now, contributing to reaching your
objectives? If no, don't do it. Plan, organize, control and
measure each day's activity. Don't be diverted: nobody will ever
repay you for the time they (and you) waste.
12. Don't Be Afraid to Make Mistakes
None of us likes to make a mistake. But if you don't try you
won't succeed. Successful people don't have enough fingers to
count all the mistakes they have made. If the possible gains far
outweigh the potential loss, it is a mistake not to try out your
idea. If you commit an error, don't chalk it up as a complete
loss - try to learn something from it. Mistakes are painful, but
also instructive.
13. The Only Loser is a Quitter
You were made for success, not failure. You were born with the
tools to succeed and it is up to you to use them. Go ahead, give
it a chance. The only loser is a quitter.
14. Your 30 Day Goal
You can do three things having read the above: nothing; decide to
do something (almost as bad as doing nothing); or you can take
those ideas you like and implement them every day for the next 30
days. Do that and you will be better off in 30 days time than you
are today.

Four Joint Venture Strategies To Quadruple Your Ezine Subscriber
Base Over The Next Two Months
by Dr. Bill Nieporte
What would an influx of a several thousand new ezine subscribers
do to your profit margin over the next two months? If you've got
a worthwhile product and a site that sells, you could easily
quadruple your profits!
So how do you build your subscriber base? I want to suggest four
*Joint Venture* strategies that really work. A joint venture is
an arrangement where two or more people trade on their resources
for the mutual benefit of all. Here's how such marketing
strategies might work for ezine publishers.
1. JOINT VENTURE YOUR KNOWLEDGE
One of the most poorly kept secrets Internet marketing is that if
you write content for your ezine and submit it to other editors,
many of them will accept it for publication. Fresh and valuable
information is a hot commodity for among ezine editors.
In return you (the author) will benefit from having a free
resource box of about seven lines to advertise your ezine and/or
other product.
It this strategy productive? Most definitely! Over the last
four weeks I have distributed two fresh articles to other ezine
editors. At last count these two articles have earned me nearly
500,000 FREE ezine impressions. One ezine contained over 150,000
subscribers. Within six hours after this issue hit the Internet
my subscriber count had increased by over 400.
2. JOINT VENTURE YOUR ENTIRE EZINE
Here's a very novel idea that works wonders. Create a "Joint
Venture Publishing Partnership" with a fellow ezine. Find an
ezine that targets an audience your products are geared to
attract. Then propose the deal. Suggest to the editor that
your cross publish your ezine to other's lists.
Most shrewd ezine editors will jump at this chance. It will
provide them with a brand new audience for their work (and you
too). Don't worry--both of you will be especially motivated to
make this issue you best ever--in order to attract more
subscribers to your respective list.
3. JOINT VENTURE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION PAGE
On one of my sites I have joined eight other popular ezine
publishers in a neat joint venture that has literally doubled my
weekly new subscriptions. Whenever a person subscribes to any of
these ezines on their respective domain, they are immediately
transported to a co-opt page that lists all the other ezines in
this fraternal relationship.
4. JOINT VENTURE YOUR SUBSCRIBER CONTESTS
Contests are very popular means of attracting traffic to your
site. Recently, however, several ezine editors developed a very
creative way to use contests to increase their respective
subscriber base.
Combined these editors (who publish what I believe are the very
best marketing ezine on the Internet) could provide over 100,000
powerful ad impressions for one lucky winner. Their strategy was
to create a single page where subscribers to register for the
prize by subscribing to each list.
Next they invited webmasters and other ezine editors to advertise
their exclusive subscriber site. Those who advertised would
automatically be considered for a special weekly contest drawing.
This system is one of the best joint venture arrangements I have
ever seen. You can check it out at
