Put a subscription form on every page of your Web site (an ad for your newsletter to subscribe email addresses via an online form). Some visitors will only see one page before leaving, so make sure you have a chance of getting their email address before they go.
And you might not think it, the fact is, a visitor can go through 3 or 4 pages of your site before they even notice the subscription form. As with any other ad, repetition increases response rates.
With a site of more than a handful of pages, I suggest you use SSI to add the subscription form. Including the HTML from a stand-alone file rather than hard-coding it in to each page will save you hours of work whenever you want to modify the form (and believe me, it's almost certain that one day you will want to make changes - a different offer, better copy, even a new subscription address). Using SSI, you'll only have to alter a single file, instead of every page.
