X=X=X=X=X=X=X=X=X=X=X

Hello,

In the week I received a message from Arik Schenkler, telling me
about his new web site http://ExactResponse.com . Here Arik has
established what he describes as a "keyword search community" - a
kind of search engine where each registrant 'owns' up to five key
words or phrases forever, and for free.

The first one to claim a keyword gets it. The search engine only
returns a single company's link. "One question - one EXACT
response." You even get paid for clicks on your keywords!

Obviously, your keywords must be relevant, and have to be
approved by a human editor. This is the secret to providing
quality results, crucial if the service is to be popular.

Says Arik, "Basically, it's a no-lose proposition. If we
successfully brand the site and it becomes popular, the early
movers are in line for the links and visits. If it fails, well,
ok, it cost 15 minutes of their time to think of and register the
keywords - not a tragedy in the great scheme of things."

I've joined and registered my keywords. I suggest you rush over
to do the same. After you've submitted your keywords at
ExactResponse, be sure to follow the link to Wesley Warren's
iApeal at http://www.iApeal.com.au .

Wesley's service works on a similar 'less is more' principle, but
enables you to register an unlimited number of keywords as your
own, free of charge (again, subject to relevancy approval from a
human editor). In addition, a search at iApeal results in the
user being directly connected to the site that owns the keyword.

As Wesley says "My Link Engine works on a simple principle.
People know what they want most of the time. So I make life easy
for them by giving them what they want in ONE CLICK. No searches,
no categories, no navigation layers, just ask and click. It's a
bit like a search engine without the tedious searching and
sorting through results. I take people straight to what they want
by sending a URL redirection to their browser based on their
search term."

If you're not having much luck promoting your site in regular
seach engines, this is an opportunity you shouldn't pass up. Both
sites already have steady traffic, which they are working to
increase over the coming months. I grabbed a bunch of great
keywords at both. I suggest you do the same. While you still can!

Many online marketers lost one of there favorite tools this week:
GoTo have removed the Search Term Suggestion Tool from their
public site.

Almost indispensable in keyword research, the tool tells you how
many times your input keywords and their variations have been
searched for during the previous month. Many sites - including
NowSell.com - linked to, or used results from it for the benefit of
their own visitors.

Say GoTo, "Because the Search Term Suggestion Tool was so heavily
used, we decided to perform some systems maintenance, and
temporarily removed it from our site."

The Search Term Suggestion Tool has been moved into the secure
area of the GoTo site. Here, advertisers with GoTo can access it
after logging in. You'll find it in the Add Listings section of
the DirecTraffic Center.

GoTo say they don't yet know if and when the Search Term
Suggestion Tool will be placed back on their public site.
Personally, I doubt it ever will be.

Initially, the tool may have helped to raise GoTo's profile.
However, with its current popularity amongst many that don't use
any of GoTo's other (revenue generating) services, GoTo have
probably decided the cost on system resources not worthwhile.

                               BB

As you may have noticed from the table of contents, the news
section TIDBITS is back. The majority of readers say they want
the news items (and who am I to argue?). Here's the results of
the vote:

YES! >>>> 70%

I would like news items in every issue.

NO! >>>> 28%

I would not like news items in every issue.

ERR? >>>> 2%

I'm not sure... whatever ...?

A couple of comments:

As long as the content isn't everywhere on the news
services, and is interesting as well as informative
--such as in this issue--it is a good addition to the
ezine.

Best regards,
Wayne Soszka

Yet most businesses people either ignore them, look down their noses at them, or 'suffer' their stupid questions and even stupider attempts to understand technology. What a HUGE mistake! Think back to when you got your first computer.... What were your experiences for the first few weeks or even months?... FRUSTRATION! Screaming Fits? Tantrums? Of course not. You're an adult. You didn't do childish things like that, did you? Know something? I'm an experienced Internet Marketer and I STILL do. Why doesn't a Help file help? Why don't Tutorials teach? Why are manuals filled with gibberish? And millions of new PC owners are suffering the same thoughts at this very moment. Yet sadly ... ------ "No-one Seems To Gives a Damn" When Newbies seek help, all they meet is Techie-Speak. When they refer to help Files they are left floundering. And if they read a PC for Idiots book they FEEL like an idiot! Newbie's are simply inexperience people. Not Idiots, not Dummies, not Retards! The day you get married, you become a Newbie Spouse. Not a Dummy. Your first day behind the wheel of a car makes you a Newbie driver. Not an Idiot. Hey, we're ALL Newbies at sometime, so why don't the experienced guys treat Newbies with respect, instead of patronizing them and trying to impress them with their recently acquired Jargon and Technical prowess? A pat on the head is NOT the way to gain a Newbie's respect, OR HER BUSINESS! And her first experiences on the Internet are not much better. Browsers, HTML, Search Engines, Java, Go-To, "Trust me and buy this", Credit card fraud ..."Who me -Download? Whoa there, where did it go?" .... "Will someone please HELP ME?" A revolutionary new Website called The Newbie Club at http://www.newbieclub.com?details is changing all that. It offers bundles of Newbie-Speak Tutorials that contain not a byte of Jargon. And the first 2 in a series of innovative Newbie books are presented in a way that is totally unique on the Web. And there's even more to come. I'm not surprised that response has been so amazing. And not just from the Newbies themselves. Affiliates are signing up at a remarkable rate. Why? Because for the first time ever on the Internet, someone has found a way to speak to Newbies at their own level. Someone who understands their real problems and treats them with respect! Someone who has finally discovered that today's Newbie is tomorrow's 'Oldbie'. And from a business point of view ...a loyal customer! So never assume that your visitor has a good understanding of technicalities. Even a 'simple' process like downloading your free ebook can be a frustrating and intimidating prospect for many people. Don't ignore them by thinking they're stupid. They're not ... They Just Haven't Done It Before! To illustrate this point, The Newbie Club's flagship product, 'Windows For Newbies' has been used by Computer Societies, Colleges, experienced PC users, and 'lonesome' Newbies alike. Even their Bank Manager bought 20 COPIES to teach his Bank staff the basics. Are Bank Tellers Stupid? So why not look at your Website again. This time from a Newbie's perspective. Or better still, have a Newbie go through it. You will be surprised at the reaction you will get. And some of it could be pretty painful! But if you're prepared to ACT on the feedback, you'll find that by making your site more 'Newbie-Friendly' your sales could substantially improve. So stop ignoring this vast untapped market ... THINK NEWBIE! And watch your sales improve. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Joe Robson of http://www.adcopywriting.com is co-author of Make Your Words SELL! http://myws.sitesell.com/info.html with Ken Evoy.
