Text Links Pay Better Than Adsense

This post is intended for people with new blogs that are looking to make a little extra cash.

A few weeks ago, when I started Subnixus back up, I struggled with the idea of putting Adsense back up. It was good for me in the past, but in my opinion, it is an eyesore. I have a pretty nice layout going on and I don’t want to slap Adsense up if I do not have to. So I looked into the idea of selling text links.

When I brought Subnixus back to life, my traffic was gone. I was back down to 100 visitors a day. If I was lucky, Adsense would have made me $1 a day. So I started looking at other options.

So I decided to try and sell a few “sponsor” links. If I could sell 3 links for $10 each, that would already beat my optimistic amount of $1/day with Adsense. So I started asking if anyone wanted to sponsor the site.

Within a day I’d already made $30. Not bad. And because I only used Google Checkout I had to turn away almost 20 people that were not from the U.S.

So think about it for a minute. If I would have used Paypal, I could have made $200+ in less than a week and my “new” site was only 12 days old. In the past, it took me months to before I could make more than $100 a week with a single site.

“But Eric! How am I going to sell links if nobody visits my site?”. Good question. That’s where Text Link Ads comes into play.

You sign up with them, place a small code on your page, and they do all the work. They do take a 50% take, but you actually get buyers. So what would you rather have? An empty sponsor list because you have no visitors or a full sponsor list that pays?

Go sign up with them and put the code on your site. Give it a week or two for people to start buying links, but once they start they will keep coming. And if you have Adsense, you can still use Text Link Ads.
