Value of Made For AdSense Site

Made for AdSense (or MFA) sites are so common these days, you can?t surf the web without landing on at least one of them. You know the kind of sites I?m talking about; little to no content, tons of ads, wondering how the hell you got there. But as online moneymakers, are they really worth it?

The short answer is that it depends on your skills level, your goals, and how big your balls are. MFA sites (not to be confused with sBlogs, which I?ll talk about at a later date) are a touchy subject with AdSense publishers. Go on any AdSense publisher type of online forum, and you?ll understand why. Most forum users are what we like to call White Hat (follow all the rules) type users. Create a site, add lots of original content, optimize, rinse and repeat. They play by the Google TOS rule book and take no risks. And this system does work in the long run, but it will take a lot of time, energy, commitment and patience. And I have none of those.

I?d use the white hat route if I wanted to create a site for the user experience alone. No tricks, no risks. However, I enjoy taking chances and as mentioned above, I have no patience. I go the borderline route if you will. I won?t break the TOS outright, but if something isn?t written in the TOS saying I can?t do it, you better believe your ass that I will try it out. For example; placing pictures next to ads (you didn?t think that was a white hat technique did you?), making sure that the users only options to exit my page is by either clicking on one of the ads, or by using the back button. These are called Gray Hat techniques in ad publishing. Not illegal by the TOS, but not very ethical either. You?re pretty much trapping the user on your webpage, and forcing them to click the ads in order to move on.

Are they profitable? They could be if you research the niche and have some knowledge in getting the right keywords. Programs such as Traffic Equalizer (not an aff) which create MFA web sites automatically, used to be good and it still can make you some quick cash (but you?ll have to heavily tweak the code since Google is aware of the base coding used by Traffic Equalizer and bans the URL it?s on very quickly). Real MFA?ers create databases full of content and high paying keywords, and use scrapping techniques on other sites with their own bots to grab content. This method works best, but you?ll need coding and programming skills because none will share their scripts (at least none that I know of) with you for free. If they did, those techniques would become obsolete within 2 months time and they would be losing revenue.

The problem that will arise is that Google has been changing their algorithm lately to make it very hard for MFA sites to get ranked, or worse yet, get the URL banned from Google Search, and have the owners of said sites banned from the AdSense program. Spam Blogs (sBlogs) are a newer form of MFA sites, which seem to prove slightly more reliable, since you mooch off other peoples content and make it your own. Again, I?ll talk about sBlogs in an upcoming post.

I?ve operated several MFA sites back in the day, and they did gain me some great income for the first 2 months, before Google banned the URL?s. If you want to make a quick buck, I say try one or two out just for the sake of learning how it?s done. Because some of those skills that are used on MFA sites, can be very valuable and useful for your legit boring white hat sites.
