What browser are you using?

I’ve tested in Safari and Firefox on the Mac, and Internet Explorer on Windows (the browser responsible for 90% of the time required to fix design “problems”).

Thanks for your kind words and the link.

Yes, software like this is a pain. I routinely delete stacks of “you have a nice site” automated spam posts, and an even greater number of the more blatant ones. They are the reason real comments like yours get delayed, because I have to weed out all the junk first.

Nice article – I knew these packages exist (I’ve seen enough of the results on my site, and have put a ton of stuff in place to keep it under control) – I’m still spending way too much time checking logs for spam attempts that have been thwarted by the stuff in my server config – only to add them to the banned IP lists.

I have to second the comment that just because I leave the door unlocked, it’s not an open invitation to spam all over my blog – in fact, until fairly recently, I didn’t allow public commenting because of the problems of automatic comment and trackback spam.

What those who push the blog submitters never include, is that if you get tagged by spam hunters, chances are excellent your domain will get banned in Google. That means no traffic from Google at all. I’m sure I’ve personally gotten thousands of sites banned in Google, and I’m not the only one who does that.

I bought BSP. I tried it once, and almost immediately felt it was wrong. Building my business in a legitimate way is good, but annoying people in the process is wrong.
I hate that feeling when you’ve been duped. What a sucker!
