SEO / SEM
SEO takes time; you will need to wait at least 3-6 months to begin seeing results.
How often have you heard an SEO company come out with this? Here’s the truth from someone who has worked for some of the largest digital agencies in the UK: it’s nonsense.
The length of time to “success” (defined as a top 10 ranking for one of your main target search terms) depends on a whole host of variables, including:
- Your existing domain/site authority – how many quality links do you have pointing into your website currently?
- The amount of resources you can conceivably dedicate to the campaign, or in other words the margin your SEO Company insists on preserving – go with a bigger agency and you should expect that they will spend less of your investment on something “tangible” e.g., links.

Social Media
“Chat, flirt, socialize and have fun” is the tagline for the popular social dating site, Badoo. Founder of the site, Andrey Andreev, started Badoo in 2006 when it served only as a photo sharing site. Andrey was living in Spain at the time, and mainly because Spanish girls couldn’t be dated until the male had met her family, he thought it wouldn’t be a good idea to launch the site with a “meet new people” concept.
One year later in 2007 Andrey made an about turn on his initial judgment. He decided to test his views on Spanish women, and repositioned the Badoo as a place to meet new people, rather than just a photo sharing site. This decision came after Andrey observed that even though his site was not earning him revenue, the number of users had grown tremendously within the first year of its launch. The 2007 Google Zeitgeist recorded Badoo as one of the fastest growing search terms, second only to iPhone.

I’m not going to go into the benefits you gain when you submit a guest post. Having found your way here I’ll assume you’re already aware of those, and know how to research the value NowSell.com offers.
Please follow the guidelines below if you are interested in having your content published:
- Posts MUST be well written. I’ve found that editing and correcting guest posts often takes longer than writing my own in the first place. So if you send me something peppered with grammatical or other errors, unless the content is absolutely stellar, it will be rejected.
- It should go without saying, but the content must be original; a unique article never posted online before. It must not be spun content and upon acceptance it may not be posted elsewhere.
- Your post should tell the reader how to do or achieve something, or share insights on something topical and related to online marketing. It should be interesting, factually accurate and at least 450 words in length — longer, more detailed posts are better.
- Posts that contain at least one related image and/or link to relevant resources that reinforce the theme of the content are preferred.
- Please do not submit articles that are intended for beginners, or only offer a basic overview or introduction to a topic and lack solid content. A moderately experienced online marketer should come away feeling they have learnt something of value, not that they have wasted their time reading empty content.
- Topical posts related to industry news will typically get posted sooner than other content. I always keep slots open for time-sensitive posts, but otherwise the posting calendar is set a month to six weeks in advance.
- Infographics, unique images and videos are also acceptable forms of content. But as with a regular post, they must be exclusive to this blog, and be accompanied by a least 150 words of text.
- You can include two self-serving links in the byline. They should be at least somewhat related to the topic of the blog (Internet marketing/ ecommerce) if not the post itself. Random off-topic links have become too much of a liability and can no longer be accepted. No affiliate links.
- Submitted content may be edited, reworded, or restructured without notification, to improve readability, correct errors, etc. This is to your benefit, but if you can’t accept it, don’t offer content.
- The content should be submitted in pure HTML, with h3 tags used for headings. Alternatively the .doc format is acceptable if headings are wrapped in h3 tags — do not use bold/strong for headings. Send submissions to blogsonly [at] gmail.com.

There are numerous tools and strategies you can use that help you to build online presence, from SEO services and blogging to social media. Exactly which tools to use depends on your market, your business, your skills and your resources.
But whatever means you use to build your online presence, here are a few tips that will help ensure your success.
Do Your Research
It can be easy to get caught up in buzzwords and hype over the ‘next big thing’. Make sure you don’t run headlong into something that you don’t understand. Before you set up a Facebook page or Twitter account, look for advice on how to use these tools and others in the most effective way. It’s more difficult to pull back from screw-up or publicity disaster than it is to avoid falling into it in the first place.
