Web Marketing Strategy Update

Yeah … I know, I haven’t posted here in ages. I got married and did loads of other stuff, some of which I might share with you at some point. All in all though, I think I’ve pretty much been honeymooning for the last 5 months (fantastic wife … what can I say? )!
I have been working too, or at least that’s what I’ve been telling myself. But when I look back, it’s not been much really — I seem to have spent a lot more time away from the computer than at it. Actually, that’s probably true of the last 5 years as well!

Oh, and I went to Bali a couple of weeks ago. We had a good time, but having lived in Malaysia for 16 years and been to other parts of Indonesia and Thailand countless times I couldn’t help finding myself pretty underwhelmed and wondering what all the fuss was about. Still, I suppose it was amazing 30 years ago when the region was first opening up and it was the exotic Asian destination to visit. And, if you go now it’s still quite a bit cheaper than usual (for Bali, but more expensive than Indonesia in general), the tourist trade having not yet recovered from the Bombings.

Doesn’t time fly?

It’s hard to believe how long it is since I last posted. I went off to visit my parents in the UK for about three weeks, and attend my aunt’s 90th birthday party. I took my Powerbook with me though, fully intending to continue posting from there.

Didn’t happen.

It seemed like I had only been back in Malaysia five minutes when I was packing again to go up to Penang and see my brother over xmas (I invited him over to visit me a couple of years ago, now he’s married to a local and lives here!).

And who wants to work between then and New Year, right?

Anyway, apologies for my long absence if I was missed, but I’m back now and thinking it’s about time I got down to some work!

I was planning to start posting again tomorrow, but I’ve just discovered WordPress 2 is out, so I might get the upgrade out of the way first, which will also involve backing everything up, copying some hacks to the new files (once I’ve found them!), upgrading pluggins and generally making sure everything still works … I’ll try and get my act together by Friday, otherwise we’re looking at Monday and yet another new week!
