One of the biggest problems every web marketer faces is getting people to sign up for their email list. Most people know by now that you need to have some type of opt-in form on your site. What they are having problems with is people actually entering their email address.

When someone lands on your site and they see some crappy little form they are not going to be too convinced to give you permission to blast their inbox with information. You are going to have to try harder at convincing them. But some people do manage to get a few things right.

Determining which colours to use to enhance your webpage is an important decision. Unlike print media, adding colour is free in web design. In fact, as long as you stay within the safe selection of colours for the Internet, your choices in colour are tremendous.

But you need to be careful. Colours do give people certain impressions. If this weren’t the case, you wouldn’t see some industries tending toward certain colours in their marketing materials and in their logo selection. Here are some things to consider.

Warm Colours

The list of warm colours always includes red, yellow and orange. Some colour theory characterizes black as being a warm colour, as well. These colours tend to be associated with energy, vibrancy and comfort. Yellow is generally perceived to be an optimistic colour, while red is generally perceived to be a powerful colour. Utilizing warm colours in your logo and on your webpage can give viewers a sense of comfort, while still allowing you to present an image of competence and energy.

Only 20% of mobile internet users leave their phones at home. Four out of five carry their mobiles everywhere they go. Consequently, many businesses are now targeting customers who use mobile devices, because of the high penetration rate of marketing messages.

To have a major impact as a mobile marketer, you must know the purchasing behaviours of your target consumer group.

There are about 500 million smartphones and 100 million tablet computers in the world now. In five years time, the number will have increased to 700 million smartphones and 300 million tablets. There will be more people using phones and tablets to get online than people using computers.

There’s no doubt that mobile computing is the future. The twin trends of convergence and miniaturization have ensured that we’ve seen more and more classes of technology, and generally seen the things we use on a daily basis become smaller and smaller whilst retaining the power of their larger predecessors. Mobile computing, or using tablets, is undoubtedly convenient and intuitive when compared to firing up cumbersome and complex computers that are often slow to launch.

Webmasters of course should be looking into ways to capitalize on this trend and to make sure that they are prepared as we move into an even more mobile dominated future as time goes on. And to be fair, many webmasters know this too and are feverishly making their mobile websites to go alongside their regular ones, and even making little apps.
