Zemanta is an amazing WordPress plugin. An add-on that every blogger needs.

What Zemanta Does
This amazing program/widget/add-on:
- Appears automatically in every WP Dashboard you use
- Finds related images for every post, including license details. 1 Click inserts the image
- Finds related authority pages for you to link to including NY Times, Wikipedia, AP . . .
- Inserts the links as Related Articles at the end of your posts
- Gives you in-text links (if you want them) to authority sites, including Amazon
- Finds tags for your post

That is just ‘out of the box’. If you sign up for an account then you can personalise Zemanta:
- You can find related articles from your own blog
- You can find related articles from any blog you own
- You can find related articles from friends sites
- You can set InfoBarrel and HubPages as your sources and link to your work there

Signing up for an account also means that other Zemanta users are automatically offered related articles from all of your sources. When a user selects one of your articles or posts as relevant to his you get a link.
This means that you will have an ever-increasing number of sites linking back to all of your sources – natural linking.
How Much Does Zemanta Cost?
How much would this program be worth? I use it and I would be willing to pay at least $50 for it.
The program is free.
Signing up for an account is free. Zemanta has sponsored listings but they are not intrusive and are always clearly identified.

Zemanta’s Potential
It takes a few minutes to realise the potential that Zemanta has.
It means you can interlink all of your posts, even those on different blogs very easily. No more opening multiple windows and copying URLs into links. This facility alone makes the software worth using.
Zemanta finds the authoritative news posts that you need to link to. I, for one never even bothered looking, but Zemanta just offers them up to you to add at the end of your article. You can set all links to open in new windows and to be no-follow if you wish, though all mine are do-follow because these are all trusted sites.
The real potential is when you get together with other bloggers. You can use each others’ sites as your sources and interlink all of your posts in a natural way. I was breathless when I thought about this.
There is an element of trust involved, so you would only work with friends, but your collective posts could end up as interlinked as Wikipedia.
Phil Turner discovered Zemanta very recently, but is convinced that this is the single most useful free WP tool available. There is an illustrated guide to Zemanta onPhil’s site, Writing Paying Articles, www.writingpayingarticles.com
