Why I have included these pages.
You may be wondering why I have included these ad replicator pages at all. I agree that there is little proof that they will bring substantial traffic to your site. And the further down the chain you progress, the more remote becomes the prospect of generating quality, targeted traffic.
However, there's a growing trend in search engine behaviour that leads me to believe that these simple devices could prove very helpful for small businesses on the net for quite a different reason...
More and more of the major search engines are taking into consideration the number of sites linking to a searched page as an indicator of popularity and by implication, relevancy.
Whilst still only one of many factors that play a part in your search engine ranking, it would nevertheless appear likely to become an important one.
As a relatively new site, you may fail to get top ranking on searches for your preferred keyword, simply because the pages listed before yours are all well established, with many other sites already linking to them.
You may have created a well crafted, search engine friendly page, but if your competitors have also done a reasonably good job on this front, their link popularity will ensure them a position ahead of you.
From your point of view, it seems like a vicious circle...
Your competitors push you off the first page of results through their link popularity. This means they will get more visitors than you from this particular SE. Your 2nd page listing makes it harder for you to get more visitors to your site and so to increase your popularity.
Meanwhile your competitors are enjoying the large number of visitors their first page listing guarantees, rapidly increasing the number of sites that decide to link to them.
Greater Popularity >> More Visitors >> Greater Popularity >> More Visitors >> Gr...
If this was the only SE and the only means of promotion available, your competitors, by virtue of their initial position, would steadily increase their popularity relevance over you (assuming of course that their site offers what the visitor wants).
As you can see, using conventional means to break into this top group will be harder and take much longer than on SE's that don't rank link popularity.
This is where the self-replicating ad pages come in. View them not as a possibly ineffective means of advertising, but as a method of rapidly increasing the number of sites linking to you.
When looking at them from this angle, considerations of how many people actually click on your ad become far less important.
Advertise a link to your home page on the replicator pages I've provided here, not to an affiliate program that you're involved in as most people do. Don't look at them as a means of getting X number of people to see your ad, or even to visit your site.
Look at them as creating X number of links to your site, which will increase your relevancy to the search engines.
For example, the first replicator page listed here loudly declares "Get 3,368,420 hits for FREE!" Don't focus on the (unlikely) possiblity of getting 3,368,420 hits! Instead think in terms of having thousands (maybe even millions - who knows!) of pages accross the internet linking to your site.
I strongly suggest you create a page on your site offering several replicator pages to your visitors just as I have done. "Sell" the replicator pages to webmasters on the same terms. This way we can all help each other to catch up with some of the well established "big boys" in terms of popularity rankings.
